There is no doubt that our human activities have a major and increasing impact on the health of our planet. In particular, consequences of climate change, marine resources exploitation and various pollutions threaten the health of marine ecosystems.
Today, the urgency for ocean protection lies in our human capacity to act together towards a sustainable ocean, by trusting in scientific knowledge and following the recommendations.
TRUST IN SCIENCE
Scientists work hard to monitor the oceans 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Since many years, they warn about the deteriorating health of the oceans and the need to act together for their protection. Their discoveries progressively build the solutions we need to implement to protect the oceans, and create the conditions for a sustainable planet.
But we live in a digital world where scientific informations are heard with difficulty, and sometimes questioned. Fake news and misinformations must be countered by facts and figures which shed light on the path to solutions.

At Connected Oceans, we are convinced that popularizing and spreading the scientific knowledge produced by oceanographers should give everyone a taste for realness as well as the keys to a better understanding our planet with the desire to love it and protect it.
Connected Oceans is a non-profit organisation that leads an international initiative to connect people and build bridges between oceanography and society. To achieve this goal, we act to inform by science, to accelerate education initiatives and to raise our awareness of our vital relation with the oceans, and the urgent need to protect them.
