.

Connected Oceans is an international non-profit organisation dedicated to bringing people together and building bridges between oceanography and society as a whole.

To achieve this goal, the organisation is committed to informing through science, bringing together and developing educational initiatives, and raising public awareness of the ocean’s vital role in our lives and the urgent need to protect it.

our vision.

Whilst the ocean is one of the cornerstones of life on Earth, human activities are having a major and growing impact on its health: the consequences of climate change, the exploitation of marine resources and various forms of pollution are threatening the balance of the climate system and the health of many marine ecosystems.

Protecting the oceans is a matter of urgency to ensure our health and a sustainable future for humanity on Earth.

The time for mere observation is over. The challenge today lies in our ability to act together for a healthy ocean, drawing on what scientists know and what they recommend we do to achieve this goal.

trust in science.

Marine scientists are working tirelessly to monitor the oceans 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

For many years, they have been warning us about the deteriorating health of the oceans and the need to act together to protect them. Their findings are helping us gradually develop the solutions needed to create the conditions for a sustainable planet.

The digital world in which we live sometimes renders this scientific message inaudible; it is sometimes questioned or struggles to be heard. Misinformation and fake news must be countered with facts and figures that illuminate the path towards solutions.

change the world by your knowledge.

With Connected Oceans, we are convinced that the ocean is at the heart of our lives, and that it must be protected for a better future.

We aim to work towards better dissemination of scientific knowledge, improved education and widespread awareness of the challenges to its health. These three areas of action will provide everyone with the tools to better understand, love and respect our blue planet.
