the association
Connected Oceans is a French non-profit organisation of general interest, founded in 2026 by Carole Saout-Grit.
This international initiative aims to inform, educate and raise awareness among the general public about taking action to ensure a healthy ocean and a sustainable future, by exploring marine science and scientific recommendations for implementing solutions.
our founder
Carole Saout-Grit
physical oceanographer

Carole Saout-Grit has been a research engineer in physical oceanography since 1998.
After working in public laboratories for over ten years, she has been working as a freelance oceanographer since 2008. She participates in specialist scientific activities in physical oceanography for research purposes, as well as in numerous initiatives aimed at communicating and popularising marine science to the general public.
Carole possesses solid scientific expertise and in-depth knowledge of projects and the international oceanographic community.
As a true ambassador for women in science, she also works to champion women’s place in scientific disciplines and in leadership roles. She also engages with schools and young people to share her story of educational development and professional success.
the scientific committee
We wish to establish a scientific committee that reflects the wide range of disciplines within marine science, in order to strengthen our role as a scientific voice for the oceans and to be able to develop an increasing number of initiatives to promote scientific literacy regarding the oceans.
If you are a scientist, teacher, journalist, entrepreneur, science communicator, or simply passionate about marine science and sharing it with others: please get in touch to join the CONNECTED OCEANS Scientific Committee as a volunteer and contribute your expertise to our projects.
